Post 283: The Final Curtain (4/10/10)

The Final Curtain (1/27/10 c, 4/10/10 w)

Days lie before me
Days that I can no longer see
Faded away, left with mixed up memories
Memories of a love I never had
And a life that I think I’ve never lived
So it comes to this

The final curtain
Is about to descend
Trying to find, find the sense in it
But the meaning is just out of reach for me
The time it fades, it’s almost up
All that’s left of me is a shadow
That only I can see
Waiting for the
Final curtain to fall

Chances missed
All my life condensed into a list
A list of things I didn’t do
On top of the list was to make love to you

But now it’s too late
And all I can say, all I can say is with regret
I’m sorry for everything

The final curtain
Is about to descend
Trying to find, find the sense in it
But the meaning is just out of reach for me
The time it fades, it’s almost up
All that’s left of me is a shadow
That only I can see
Waiting for the
Final curtain to fall

Now the light is getting dim
And I see everything, replayed in my mind
The movie of my life
And it seems like a mistake
All of the chances I didn’t take

All of the time, the time I wasted
On people who didn’t really care
That I thought were my lovers and friends
The lights dim and it all ends

The final curtain
Is about to descend
Trying to find, find the sense in it
But the meaning is just out of reach for me
The time it fades, it’s almost up
All that’s left of me is a shadow
That only I can see
Waiting for the
Final curtain to fall
