Post 254: We Need Rain (9/28/09)

We Need Rain (8/19/09 c, 9/28/09 w)

Summer seems to last forever
At least the summer in my heart
It seems it has been
Such a very, very long time

That the sun has only shined
And we’ve withered on the vine

We need rain
To make our love grow
To take away the drought
So we can sow
We need rain to perk up
Rain to make our love grow
Rain to make our love grow

Maybe the seasons change
For lovers too
Now maybe we’ll take the fall
Maybe we’ll finally be able to give our all
Maybe we can find something together
To bring us closer together
Something to test our fate
When the clouds come our way

We need rain
To make our love grow
To take away the drought
So we can sow
We need rain to perk up
Rain to make our love grow
Rain to make our love grow

Now it’s winter
But in this metaphor that isn’t the end
It’s just another season
With different tasks to face
With so much love to give and take
It’s something we need to go through
To give up the notion of me and you

We need rain
To make our love grow
To take away the drought
So we can sow
We need rain to perk up
Rain to make our love grow
Rain to make our love grow
