Post 408: Miles Apart (2/5/11)

Miles Apart (2/5/11 c,w)

Started off as symbiotic
At least that how it seemed to me, seemed to me
She was the air i’d breathe, air i’d breathe
We were meant to stay this way for the rest of our life
That is what she meant to me, meant to me

She was in every dream, every dream i had
Even when, even when i was awake
My longing to be with her i could not satiate
At least in my mind, she felt the same for me, same for me
Her words flowed out like a symphony, i thought i would help to complete

But now it seems to me
Miles apart
Everything, everything is falling apart
It’s falling apart
Thought we had the finish line in sight
But it’s like we’ve just started the race
And she’s running away, running away from me
Distance is breaking, breaking my heart
We’re miles apart, miles apart

 Living, living in a fantasy
Part proximity, part in my mind
I thought i knew what was real and what was a lie
Thought we’d be together, together
Until our dying, our dying day

The plans i made for the rest of my life
Tumbling, tumbling down to a shaky ground
Because you were at the center of every one
I never doubted, doubted that you were the one
But now that we’ve been apart, been apart
Is there still room for me, room for me
Inside of you, inside of your heart

But now it seems to me
Miles apart
Everything, everything is falling apart
It’s falling apart
Thought we had the finish line in sight
But it’s like we’ve just started the race
And she’s running away, running away from me
Distance is breaking, breaking my heart
We’re miles apart, miles apart

Seems like it will never be, never be like it was back then
Living in a sheltered, sheltered fantasy
With my love and my friend
Why did things change, why did that way have to end
Have to end

But now it seems to me
Miles apart
Everything, everything is falling apart
It’s falling apart
Thought we had the finish line in sight
But it’s like we’ve just started the race
And she’s running away, running away from me
Distance is breaking, breaking my heart
We’re miles apart, miles apart
