Post 360: Your Side of the Bed (4/12/10)

Your Side of the Bed (1/27/10 c, 4/12/10 w)

Your pillow acts as a reminder, a reminder to me
Of all of the promise I thought we had
But seeing it there without you still makes me sad
I know I should throw it, throw it away
But I can’t today

I’m still holding on to hope that you’ll come back to stay
You just needed a couple of days

Your side of the bed sits empty
Your indentation still marks your place
When you shared it, shared it with me
I kept the sheets on the bed
Because they hold your faint scent
And I’m not ready to give that away
Holding on to hope, that you’ll be coming home to stay
It feels so empty without you on
Your side of the bed

Is it so wrong to believe, believe that you still love me
If I can forget the note that you left
Maybe it should have never been sent

And you’ll come to see
Come to see that you need me
You need to be in my life

Your side of the bed sits empty
Your indentation still marks your place
When you shared it, shared it with me
I kept the sheets on the bed
Because they hold your faint scent
And I’m not ready to give that away
Holding on to hope, that you’ll be coming home to stay
It feels so empty without you on
Your side of the bed

Now it has been two weeks
And I still leave the light on for you
Though my mind tells me, tells me I should get over you
That is something easier to say than do
Because I still, I still love you

Your side of the bed sits empty
Your indentation still marks your place
When you shared it, shared it with me
I kept the sheets on the bed
Because they hold your faint scent
And I’m not ready to give that away
Holding on to hope, that you’ll be coming home to stay
It feels so empty without you on
Your side of the bed
