Post 347: Californian (10/1/09)

Californian (8/20/09 c, 10/1/09 w)

What did I see in her blue eyes
Was it something real
Or something I miscategorized

Maybe it was her long hair
Falling over her fake tan
How could I fall for a
Californian

She had a lot to say
But I don’t know if she had anything on her mind
I can’t believe I wanted to make her mine

It fell so right
Standing in her light
I can’t remember why I fell for a
Californian

Maybe it was her surfer girl smile
Or her vapid stare
Maybe it was just me
Trying to get into her underwear
Californian

She had a lot to say
But I don’t know if she had anything on her mind
I can’t believe I wanted to make her mine

It fell so right
Standing in her light
I can’t remember why I fell for a
Californian

It seems I was always swimming against the tide
I really wanted her to be my bride
And have my kids

But she ran away
She couldn’t take the chance
She wasn’t strong
Now alone, I’m trying to quit holding on

Californian
She had a lot to say
But I don’t know if she had anything on her mind
I can’t believe I wanted to make her mine
It fell so right
Standing in her light
I can’t remember why I fell for a
Californian
