Post 509: My Lola (3/28/10)

My Lola (10/26/09 c, 3/28/10 w)

Here’s a story you probably don’t know
Definitely a story you’ve never been told
It happened over 30 years ago
There was a girl
Trying to find her place in the world
And she was far away from home

Living in Kamola hall, the third floor I think
The love that she knew was far away in an Asian war
And the story goes
A letter came saying she lost her betrothed
So much pain she felt but she couldn’t take
And she couldn’t go on
They found here dangling on the rafters to be with the one she loved

Could you ever love me that much
Could I be all that he was to her to you
Because I want to be
If ever I were to leave
Would you be my Lola
Who couldn’t go on
Because life without me
Wouldn’t be worth living
Because I’m almost there with you
Could you be my Lola

Now from time to time
I’ve been told people may find
The girl’s reflection in the mirror
Still looking for the one she loved
Never finding him, but longing for his touch

Maybe she sees the love in teenage eyes
That she used to know
But she just can’t let him go, she can’t let him go
Because she wants him to know
Know what she never had the chance to tell him

Could I be all that he was to her to you
Because I want to be
If ever I were to leave
Would you be my Lola
Who couldn’t go on
Because life without me
Wouldn’t be worth living
Because I’m almost there with you
Could you be my Lola
