Post 482: Silver Medal (4/17/10)

Silver Medal (3/7/10 c, 4/17/10 w)

When I thought about all of the girls
I could have posted pictures of on my walls
Somehow I didn’t think of you
But that just shows how out of touch I could be
I could be when it came to love

Now I can’t get, I can’t get enough
You’re my silver medal
And my platinum medal too
More special and rare than gold it’s true
The one I wanted second most
But I was meant to be, meant to be with you
You’re my, you’re my silver medal
And my platinum too

Now I’m going back through time
To try and figure out what was going through
Going through my mind
I guess that I was confused
So confused that I could overlook you
Overlook you for a serious crush
That I wanted to love, love oh so much

Now I can’t get, I can’t get enough
You’re my silver medal
And my platinum medal too
More special and rare than gold it’s true
The one I wanted second most
But I was meant to be, meant to be with you
You’re my, you’re my silver medal
And my platinum too

I was too blind at that time
To see the girl in front of my eyes
Obscured by an image in my mind
Of the perfect girl, or the closest that I could find
But she was just a creation, a creation of my mind
A body and a face, everything else was what I wanted to be true
But everything that really mattered, everything that really mattered
I found in you, I found in you

Now I can’t get, I can’t get enough
You’re my silver medal
And my platinum medal too
More special and rare than gold it’s true
The one I wanted second most
But I was meant to be, meant to be with you
You’re my, you’re my silver medal
And my platinum too
