Post 498: Disguise (10/26/09)

Disguise (10/26/09 c, w)

You knocked on my door
You had the wrong address
But you were in the right place
When I opened the door it seemed so right

Go figure I’d fall on Halloween night
For a face I’d never seen
I guess it is a magical night
How can I give my heart
To an unfamiliar face
How could I fall in love
When I wasn’t in the race

It seems like every other night
You were wearing a disguise
And I couldn’t recognize you
Though I swear it seems
You were the one calling to me in my dreams
You have always been my dream
Now I see through your disguise

It seems to me that tonight you can be everything you want to be
But I never knew you someone could be so good with chemistry
How did it work out that you’d want to spend the night
Spend the night talking to me
But come the morning light
Will you reprise your disguise

It seems like every other night
You were wearing a disguise
And I couldn’t recognize you
Though I swear it seems
You were the one calling to me in my dreams
You have always been my dream
Now I see through your disguise

You were dressed as a naughty nurse
But I swear I needed you much more
Than all the people you’ve seen before
You’ve done more to heal me with one gentle touch
Than I could have ever conceived

Now I need to see
What I mean to you
Because I think I know what you mean to me
Maybe

It seems like every other night
You were wearing a disguise
And I couldn’t recognize you
Though I swear it seems
You were the one calling to me in my dreams
You have always been my dream
Now I see through your disguise

I never thought that my heart would gain flight
Bathed in jack-o-lantern candlelight
But it seems to me
I made out quite well at trick or treat
Now I wake up to find you sleeping next to me
This is where I hope you can always be

It seems like every other night
You were wearing a disguise
And I couldn’t recognize you
Though I swear it seems
You were the one calling to me in my dreams
You have always been my dream
Now I see through your disguise
