Post 638: Invisible Ink (3/6/10)

Invisible Ink (9/15/09 c, 3/6/10 w)

Looking back at the past again
It is easy to do when the present is so grim
And the future is obscured by the distance
I think of all the things I’ve missed
Everything that slipped away
Slipped away from me
Now I can see

Your love was invisible ink
Long since faded
There is nothing of love left on the pages
That used to mean so much to me
How wrong can a man be
Your love was invisible ink

I can’t see why you meant so much to me
When the words that you used
Were all lies
I tried to read between the lines
But all I see are the stains of my tears
Thinking back on how I felt about you all those years

Your love was invisible ink
Long since faded
There is nothing of love left on the pages
That used to mean so much to me
How wrong can a man be
Your love was invisible ink

Fading memories keep haunting me
Illusions of the past that now I see
How can I forget the girl I thought was the one
The girl that meant so much to me
My, my everything

Your love was invisible ink
Long since faded
There is nothing of love left on the pages
That used to mean so much to me
How wrong can a man be
Your love was invisible ink
