Post 578: Autopsy (5/1/10)

Autopsy (3/13/10 c, 5/1/10 w)

Putting back the pieces
Trying to find where it all went wrong
Where exactly I lost the love that I thought was so strong
Searching for the key
To find the answer to the end of me

I laid our love on the slab
Trying not to cry, but it seems so sad
My heart is in pieces, that is true
Cause of death alienation of affection
And the distance between
Apparently we both wanted, wanted different things
I never thought you’d change your mind
And make me perform a love autopsy

It’s always so tragic
When you are searching your soul for the cost
For the cost of what you lost
And I will surely find that I’m out of my mind
Your images and memories haunting, haunting me
I know that they will
I’ve got to find a way to deal

I laid our love on the slab
Trying not to cry, but it seems so sad
My heart is in pieces, that is true
Cause of death alienation of affection
And the distance between
Apparently we both wanted, wanted different things
I never thought you’d change your mind
And make me perform a love autopsy

It ended so suddenly
But this must have crossed your mind at least a couple of times
But I was too blind to see, wrapped in love’s ecstasy
That I wasn’t what you thought you would need
But I knew you were the only one for me
Now I can’t believe, believe in love

I laid our love on the slab
Trying not to cry, but it seems so sad
My heart is in pieces, that is true
Cause of death alienation of affection
And the distance between
Apparently we both wanted, wanted different things
I never thought you’d change your mind
And make me perform a love autopsy
