Post 425: Not Another June (4/12/10)

Not Another June (1/27/10 c, 4/13/10 w)

It seems every store I walk into
Is playing up the brides who come in June
And it is hard to see, hard to see when there is no hope
No hope at all for me, in any future I see
Maybe

Not another June
Not another spring day
That is too sunny to go out and play
I don’t need to see, to see the bride’s gown
Or the grooms huge smile
The love of a lifetime heeding his call
Not another June

I don’t need to see
The graduate’s dreams
Where they still believe, believe they can be anything
Before, before the curtain falls
And they take whatever they can get
It’s not what they want, but they have to go with it

Not another June
Not another spring day
That is too sunny to go out and play
I don’t need to see, to see the bride’s gown
Or the grooms huge smile
The love of a lifetime heeding his call
Not another June

Summer comes too soon as it is
I don’t need the sun to see
And all it tries to do, tries to do is burn me
There is no vacation from the life I’ve lived
I can’t escape, and I can’t fix it

Not another June
Not another spring day
That is too sunny to go out and play
I don’t need to see, to see the bride’s gown
Or the grooms huge smile
The love of a lifetime heeding his call
Not another June
