Post 776: Your Side of the Bed Version 2 (1/28/13)

Your Side of the Bed V2 (2/5/10 c, 1/28/13 w)

I woke up this morning
All alone
I looked around and you weren’t, you weren’t home

You left a note
A note saying you can’t, you can’t go on
Telling me that I did, I did nothing wrong

(Tonight I face
The coldest night that I’ve ever known
I know you won’t be coming, coming home
And the loneliest place
That I’ll have to face
Is your side, your side of the bed)

And through the night
I won’t feel, I won’t feel you hugging me
Like it always used to, used to be

I’ll miss your face lying next, next to me
But if I can sleep
I’ll try to dream, dream it’s still the same

(chorus)

When I wake up tomorrow
I’ll reach out for you, only to find an empty embrace
I know I won’t see your face

(chorus)

If you want it to
I’ll still come back, come back to you
We can pretend this never happened
And see what we can fix
Whatever it is, I’ll change

Cause I can’t take this empty space
Where you can’t be, can’t be replaced

On your side, your side of the bed
