Boy in the Corner
Hello do you remember me
Didn’t think so
but no one ever does
I’m from west of Tacoma
Among the firs and madrona
Master of interpersonal invisibility
No one ever noticed me
Just a piece of the background
That people never see
The model of inconspicuous
From the harbor
But I stand out like a small wave on a
choppy sea
The tide went out and all that’s left
is me
Never had friends I could count on
And relationships never come easily
At my graduation, but the only one
missing was me
searching for something to hold on to
But there’s never anything I can see
Always felt disassociated from the
world around me
But it didn’t reach out to me
