I never thought, thought that at the time

There was a story where you wouldn’t end up mine

But I must have been addicted to the sensation
The euphoria you caused in my brain
But since the day you’ve left I’ve never quite been the same

I would go back in time

Just to change your mind
And take every chance I was too scared to take
Because I know life without you
If there was anything different I could do
To keep you around I would take the chance

Because my past has rewritten me
And I’d go back in time and do anything, anything to make you mine
Not just in my mind
Or revisionist history

I would live for your touch and kiss

Because as hard as I try I can still remember too much
I thought your lips were meant for me
And the rest of you too
Because with you I would have given anything
Anything just to be with you
In every way you could think
I guess it is a good thing I don’t drink
