Post 960: Hurricane (9/3/24)

Hurricane (9/3/24 c,w)

Unsuspecting me with you on an idyllic sea
Thought we had it all
Thought there would be a future
Didn't know how wrong, wrong i could be

(The eye of your hurricane felt so warm, warm to me
Thought it was, was just a little breeze
Now i'm drowning, drowning in the deluge of broken memories
Coming from the skies until i can't breathe
Now all that's falling is from my eyes
Are the tears i tried, tried not to cry)

You left behind such destruction
A desecration of a love i thought was meant, meant to be
Never, never for me
All left in your wake was the debris of dead dreams
Dreams i though i shared with you
Now sheared in two

(The eye of your hurricane felt so warm, warm to me
Thought it was, was just a little breeze
Now i'm drowning, drowning in the deluge of broken memories
Coming from the skies until i can't breathe
Now all that's falling is from my eyes
Are the tears i tried, tried not to cry)

Should try and rebuild
But it isn't in, isn't in me
Thought i had, had all i need
Now the dream turned nightmare is all i see
i know i won't survive
Trapped forever in the memory of you and me
That will never, never be
